Dover Delivers Top Fives at Four Different Tracks

Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (July 27, 2021) – Jack Dover earned two podiums, four top fives and five top 10s in a half-dozen races during a recent 10-day stretch.

The lone result outside of the top six kicked off the busy week and a half of racing on July 16 when a broken rear end resulted in a DNF during a Midwest Sprint Touring Series and Midwest Power Series event at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn.

Dover followed that up by earning the Hard Charger Award with a run from 12th to third on July 17 at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, S.D. He capped that weekend with a fifth-place showing at Huset’s Speedway on July 18.

The strong results continued last week as he placed second during an MSTS event at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, on Tuesday before maneuvering from ninth to fourth at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday. The weekend concluded on Sunday with a sixth-place result at Huset’s Speedway.

“I’m really pleased with how we ran at all of those races,” he said. “I honestly believe if my rear end wouldn’t have broke at Jackson we would have had a top-five finish there. I think I just hit on what this car likes and it’s the opposite of what the car from last year liked. We’ve hit on something and it’s pretty awesome going into the Knoxville Nationals.”

Dover’s two runs at Huset’s Speedway came in the Chris and Rick Bowers’ No. 81 sprint car and the team continues to rank third in the track’s championship standings.

“We definitely want to win one before the season is over, but in order to win one you have to be willing to take a chance at wrecking a car,” Dover said. “We can’t do that right now with one car and one motor. We’re trying our hardest without wrecking and about fifth place is where we’re getting.”

Dover has a trio of races on tap this weekend with a return to Jackson Motorplex on Friday, to I-90 Speedway on Saturday and to Huset’s Speedway on Sunday.

“Every time I go out there I want to win and if I don’t win I want to at least be on the podium,” he said. “After the race at Rapid Speedway last Tuesday we pulled the motor out. The guys at Speedway Engines did some things and I think that’s why we did so well at Knoxville on Saturday. They gave it a lot more power. I feel pretty good going into this weekend and the Knoxville Nationals coming up.”
