Bryan Hulbert – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 16, 2021) No question that Dylan Westbrook has found speed at Knoxville Raceway. Posting the quickest lap in Qualifying two weeks in a row in 360cid competition, Westbrook’s turned that speed into an A-Feature win this past Saturday night with a magnificent last-lap pass.

Brining his string of podium finishes to five, the win is Dylan’s second of the season.

“It’s a huge relief to finally get a win at Knoxville, especially with 360 Nationals coming up,” stated Westbrook. “We really have not been good here, but we’ve just kept trying different things, and then Sam [Hafertepe] has been helping a lot with setup notes and advice.”

Falling back to sixth early on, Westbrook adjusted from the bottom to the top after settling back into fifth nearly half the race. To fourth on Lap 10, the final six revolutions are when he started to make up ground.

Chasing Carson McCarl into the first and second turn, having just taken second coming to the white flag. Westbrook put the Hills Racing Team No. 47x on the center groove. Finding the traction he needed to power by the No. 27, Dylan kept pace to the checkered flag by 0.443-seconds.

“I finally got back to the top and started going forward. I got to the leaders at the end, and when I slid Jamie [Ball], I could kind of feel rubber, so going into turn one on the last lap, I decided to race the middle, and it stuck better than I thought it was going to.”

With momentum and confidence going into this weekend, Westbrook will venture to Grays Harbor Raceway for the Fred Brownfield Classic with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network on Saturday, June 19, and Sunday, June 20. From there, it’s the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway on June 24, 25, 26. This will be Dylan’s first trip to both Washington ovals.

Both events can be seen live on Racinboys.tv and MAVTVplus.com.

Dylan Westbrook is a part of the Canadian-based Hills Racing Team. The 2021 season marks the 17th year of racing for Dylan Westbrook. Starting with Dirt Bikes and Go-Karts at age five, Dylan has been behind the wheel of a Sprint Car for seven years. Four championships as Ohsweken Speedway since 2015, Westbrook made the jump to the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network in 2020, earning the Brodix National Rookie of the Year.
