Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (April 28, 2021) – Scott Bogucki is bound for the East Coast this weekend for a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader.
The SawBlade.com sponsored sprint car driver will invade Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Friday and Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa., on Saturday during the Rite Way Sealing & Paving Inc. Battle of the Groves.
“I like the challenge,” he said. “I’m thankful we have our half-mile program really pointed in the right direction.”
Bogucki made his debut at both tracks in 2018, finishing in the B Main at Williams Grove Speedway before hustling to an eighth-place result at Selinsgrove Speedway.
“It was a struggle, but I’ve come a long way since then,” he said. “I’m hoping we can get straight into the feature (through the heat races) and run decent.”
Bogucki raced last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, where he was on pace to contend for his first feature victory of the season and second career at ‘The Sprint Car Capital of the World.’ He set quick time during qualifying and charged from sixth to second place in a heat race.
“We are for sure getting a handle on the place,” he said. “I think we’re pointed in the right direction.”
Bogucki led the first five laps of the feature before falling to second. However, his car came alive in traffic and he was closing on the leader when a parts problem forced him to exit the track with a handful of laps remaining.
“The cam spud stripped,” he said. “We were running the bottom and it was super narrow. We were one of the few cars that could keep it down there. A couple of guys got by me. I crept to the cushion because we were so tight. I got by Lee Grosz and was running down the leader at a rapid rate. Then all of a sudden it was like it shut off and we were out of the race.”
