Krug charges through the field for top ten finish at Knoxville Raceway
Josh Krug Racing – Knoxville, Iowa (09/14/19) - Josh Krug advanced 15 spots Saturday night for a tenth place finish with the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series at Knoxville Raceway.
Krug started the evening off qualifying 29th overall with a time of 20.742. That put him tenth on the starting grid for heat race No. 2. where he advanced four spots to finish sixth. Those four spots were tied with Ben Schaller for the most advanced positions in the heat race.
Krug rolled out for the evenings A Feature in the 25th starting spot out of 32 total cars that made the field. As the green flag dropped, he was able to make his way through the field to advance 15 spots and secure his 15th top ten of the season.
The 15 spots advanced were the second most advanced positions of any driver in the field. Massena, Iowa's Chris Speiker advanced 17 spots to finish 15th.
Krug and the team will wrap up the season with the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series at the annual Cornhusker Classic at I-80 speedway on Oct. 12. Krug is a three time winner of the event.
