Inside Line Promotions – WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (July 30, 2019) – Brian Brown highlighted a three-race weekend with the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions with a podium finish at Knoxville Raceway.

July 26 – Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. – Qualifying: 12; Heat race: 1 (1); Dash: 1 (1); Feature: 17 (1).

“We didn’t qualify as well as we hoped, but the All Stars have a format that put us on the front row of a heat,” Brown said. “We were able to win it and a dash. We led the first 12 laps of the feature. We got into traffic and didn’t maneuver through there as well as we liked. I got impatient. I went into turn three and got into the infield berm. I had to pitch it sideways to keep from cleaning out another car and couldn’t save it. It sucks for the team to give us a good enough car to win and for it to not play out.”

July 27 – Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa – Qualifying: 1; Heat race: 2 (4); Dash: 2 (3); Feature: 3 (4).

“We were able to go out last and set quick time and then we went fourth to second in the heat and third to second in a dash,” Brown said. “We got into second (in the main event) and were making good steam with Kerry (Madsen). Gio (Scelzi) came by and blew the stickers off both of us. He was in a league of his own. A couple of times I looked at the scoreboard to see if he broke and pulled in because I couldn’t see him. He and Bernie (Stuebgen) deserved to win that. A top three isn’t what we wanted, but we have to know we’re not going to win them all.”

July 28 – 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa – Qualifying: 10; Heat race: 5 (6); Feature: 15 (17).

“We just didn’t qualify well,” Brown said. “That’s the biggest thing. You have to be fast off the trailer and we weren’t. It bit us in the butt. At the end of the day no harm no foul. We’ll focus on Knoxville.”

UP NEXT – Thursday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for the 29th annual My Place Hotels 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank and Sunday at Knoxville Raceway for the 8th annual Bell Helmets Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank

“We’re looking forward to the 360 piece,” Brown said. “It’s a different car than we’ve taken there and our engines are good with Charlie Garrett. I feel we’ll be good enough to be in the hunt. You have to keep yourself in position all week long. Then the Capitani is one of the tougher events we go to all year with 70-plus cars. The format is tough. It’s an awesome event honoring an awesome guy. We were lucky to win it a couple of years ago and we’re hoping we can win another.”
