Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 18, 2019) – An eighth-place result was the weekend highlight for Kraig Kinser, who invaded Knoxville Raceway during the Brownells Big Guns Bash.

Kinser qualified 10th quickest in his group before advancing from fifth to third place in a heat race on Friday. He capped the night by rallying from 12th to eighth in the A Main. It marked his ninth top 10 of the season.

“We felt pretty good,” he said. “I had a car that could maneuver, but it was pretty top dominant so about everybody was up top. It was too hard to pass down low. There were some big sliders. Getting in a good position on the restarts was helpful. Any time you run good at Knoxville it’s great.”

Saturday started just as strong as Kinser timed in fifth quickest in his group. A fifth-place outing in a heat race locked him into the 17th starting position for the main event.

“It was a long day trying to outlast some rain,” he said. “We were fortunate we got the race in. We qualified good, but couldn’t take advantage of it. We were starting third in the heat and had a shot to make the dash if things went right. Things went wrong and we ended fifth. You have to take advantage when you qualify well and we didn’t. It was hard to make progress in the main event. The track was fast and a little narrower. We weren’t as good as we were for the Friday show either. We have some stuff to work on.”

Kinser ended with a 17th-place result.

Kinser returns to competition this Saturday at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam., Wis., during the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial presented by Karavan Trailers. He will wrap up the weekend on Sunday at Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa.

Kinser won a World of Outlaws race at Beaver Dam Raceway in 2012. Sunday will mark his debut at Dubuque Speedway.
