Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (May 13, 2019) – Four of the seven scheduled races this season have been rained out for Trey Starks and the Gobrecht Motorsports team.
Last Saturday was more of the same as a late shower cancelled racing at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, forcing the team to be idle for another weekend.
“Three of the first five races at Knoxville have rained out,” Starks said. “The weather was supposed to be good so we’re not sure where it came from. Hopefully we’ll get past this stuff soon.”
The team is scheduled to compete in a Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series event at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., this Friday before returning to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.
“I haven’t ever raced at Jackson so I’m really looking forward to racing there,” Starks said. “I’ve heard great things about the track and the videos I’ve seen since they redid the track make it look like a racy track.”
Friday will mark Starks’ second start of the season in a 360ci winged sprint car. He placed second during his season opener.
Saturday is slated to be Starks’ third race this season at Knoxville Raceway, where he recorded his career-best finish in the 410 division during the most recent race.
“We gained a lot from the Knoxville opener to the second race so we’re eagerly awaiting the next opportunity to continue that growth,” he said.
