Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (April 24, 2019) – Robbie Price is looking forward to kicking off the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour season this week after wholesale adjustments found the speed he was looking for last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
"This weekend was a little bit frustrating in the beginning," Price said. "It felt fast in practice and again in qualifying, but the lap times didn't reflect how it felt. We had to search and scrounge to pick up any amount of speed we could."
Although he struggled to the find the speed he was looking for early at Knoxville Raceway, qualifying 18th quickest and placing third in a heat race, by the end of the night he left with reason to be confident.
"We just couldn't seem to get speed," Price said. "No matter what we did we couldn't seem the make up the ground we were looking for early on."
Going into the main event the crew made wholesale changes leading to the improvement that has them confident moving forward. Price took the green flag for the main event in the 19th starting spot and finished in the same spot, but the adjustments made were positive.
"The car was much better in the feature," he said. "Now I'm excited to go back with what we've learned and see if it's paid off. I think we figured some key things out."
This Thursday night Price is off to Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., to get the 2019 season underway with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. On Friday night the tour heads to U.S 36 Raceway in Osborn, Mo.
"I just want to make every main and run in the top five all year," he said. "Of course I want to get some wins. We're not far off. It'll be my first time at a lot of these tracks, but I'm hoping for the best."
Price returns to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday to wrap up the weekend.
