Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (April 23, 2019) – Jack Dover registered a top-10 result on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, giving him at least one top 10 at the ‘Sprint Car Capital of the World’ during 10 of the last 11 years.

The night began with Dover qualifying ninth quickest despite being one of the final cars to time in at the half-mile oval.

“The qualifying was pretty good considering we were second to last to qualify out of 34 cars,” he said. “In the heat I had a good run going down the frontstretch on the start, but it looked like a guy in front of me was going to spin out so I got off the throttle. We ended up running where we started.”

A fourth-place finish in the heat race ranked Dover 12th in overall points. That started him on the outside of the sixth row for the A Main.

“We tried some stuff and it didn’t work,” he said. “We can put that in our notebook to not do again. The car wasn’t tight enough and I couldn’t rotate the top. I’d have to cheat it because it’d be too tight and then that’d screw up the rest of the corner.”

Dover was able to hustle to a 10th-place finish.

He returns to action this Thursday at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., where he will drive for Chris Bowers during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event. Dover will then invade Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, S.D., for a Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints doubleheader on Friday and Saturday.

“I’m pretty excited because we’re back at a home track in Eagle where we’ve had a lot of success,” he said. “We’ve done really well at Park Jefferson, too. Hopefully we can contend for a win each night.”
