Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 18, 2018) – Big Game Motorsports pilot Kerry Madsen powered to a pair of podium finishes last weekend.

The Muddy backed team joined the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., for the Northern Tour. Madsen qualified third quickest overall and he won a heat race to advance into the dash. He then claimed the dash victory after starting on the pole to line up on the inside of the front row for the 40-lap A Main.

“We were looking pretty good,” he said. “We had a fast car, right where you want it. I was making progress on the bottom. I got too patient with one of the lapped cars. I should have got more aggressive and I got passed. I felt like I was so good on the bottom to that point.”

Madsen led the first 24 laps before he was held up trying to put a fellow competitor down a lap. Two drivers got by, relegated Madsen to a third-place result.

“If you don’t execute everything perfectly you’re probably not going to win an Outlaws race,” he said. “It’s definitely a little disappointing that you’re in position to win and didn’t pull it off, but you’re also happy that you had a good run.”

The team ventured to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday. Madsen qualified second quickest overall and he advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the second row for the main event.

“We’re just not fast enough there,” he said. “It’s as simple as that. In the early part of the race we don’t have the speed we need. It feels like we’re always really good the last two or three laps. We have to improve and we’re working on it.”

Madsen will join the World of Outlaws this Friday at Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa, before he returns to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.
