Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 4, 2018) – Kerry Madsen guided Big Game Motorsports to a second-place finish last Saturday for the fourth time this season.

The Muddy sponsored team ventured to Knoxville Raceway, where Madsen opened the action by qualifying second quickest. He then powered from sixth to second place during a heat race to rank second in overall points.

“We put down an okay lap in qualifying and then I got going on the bottom in the heat race,” he said. “We’re still kind of searching on the car.”

The feature inversion was four, which lined Madsen up on the inside of the second row.

“I got a good start, but I felt like the first 10 laps of the A Main I couldn’t do anything right,” he said. “I was just doing the wrong things at the wrong time. I was messing up in traffic. I felt like I didn’t drive very good. There was a yellow and I started driving the thing properly.”

Madsen dropped to fifth before rebounding during the second half of the main event.

“I got to the top and committed to it,” he said. “We pushed hard to catch Brian Brown for the lead. We had a shot on a late restart, but I spun the wheels on the restart and gave up too much.”

Madsen’s second-place finish gives the team momentum entering the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series 40th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals this Thursday through Saturday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn.

“With the new track configuration who knows how it will play out,” he said. “I don’t think we have the advantage we had there last year. I feel like Saturday night we made some great gains with Guy (Forbrook) and the race car. I’m excited we have three nights in a row to keep working on it.”

Madsen won an AGCO Jackson Nationals preliminary night last year before finishing second during the finale.
