Inside Line Promotions – MASON CITY, Iowa (Aug. 1, 2017) – Alex Hill is excited to put last weekend behind her and compete in the 27th annual 360 Knoxville Nationals this Thursday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

“I’m really excited about the 360 Nationals,” she said. “Knoxville is one of my favorite tracks and I love racing there. Hopefully, it will go better than our last couple of nights.”

Hill competed at the half-mile oval in Knoxville, Iowa, last Saturday to open a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader. She was one of 60-plus competitors tackling the event, which began with Hill qualifying 29th quickest in her group. She then finished 10th in a heat race and 17th in a B Main.

“The car felt good,” she said. “It just didn’t have a lot of speed.”

The Hills Racing Team followed the ASCS National Tour north on Sunday to race at Mason City Motor Speedway.

“The car was pretty good in the heat,” she said. “I just needed to drive it better. I needed to move up higher and run the corners harder. The last couple of laps I got the hang of it and started doing better.”

Hill finished fifth in a heat race and she started 21st in the feature on a dry track. Unfortunately, Hill was unable to finish the main event because of a mechanical problem that relegated her to an 18th-place result.
