Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 1, 2017) – Kerry Madsen set quick time during both races last weekend.

“That’s good because for me every time you hit the track you want to be fast,” he said. “It proves it’s there; the car speed is there. It’s a confidence builder when you know the car is fast.”

The Big Game Motorsports driver began the action on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., where he established a new track record during qualifying before finishing where he started – sixth – in a heat race. That lined the Muddy sponsored team up on the outside of the eighth row for the main event.

“We had a pretty good car and I got a good start,” he said. “It’s not the type of track you click off cars every corner. You have to set them up as you go. I was pretty happy with getting up to seventh.”

Madsen powered from 16th to a seventh-place finish to garner the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, where quick time during qualifying and moving from sixth to fourth place in a heat race started Madsen on the inside of the third row for the A Main.

“I think we could have had a shot at the win, but the yellow came out at the wrong time,” he said. “I was happy with the race, but I still feel like there’s more potential.”

Madsen advanced into third place before the track took rubber. He gained one more position before the checkered flag waved as the Muddy backed team scored a runner-up result for the third time this season at Knoxville Raceway.

Madsen will compete this Sunday at Knoxville Raceway for the Capitani Classic.
