Hahn Ready For Knoxville Following ASCS Regional Outings

SAPULPA, Okla. (July 27, 2017) Racing three nights in ASCS Regional competition this past weekend, Blake Hahn seemed to find the rug pulled from his feet nearly every night with a pair of ninth place finishes to go along with a 10th place showing in ASCS Red River and Warrior competition at Creek County Speedway, Lake Ozark Speedway, and Double X Speedway.

“The car was fast, it was just one of those weekends where it seemed like nothing could go right,” said Hahn.

Running near the front on Friday night at Creek County Speedway, Hahn would have to recover from a spin early on in the 25 lap feature event. On the spin, Blake said, “That one was my fault. I just got in too hot on the top of turns one and two, and with Creek, you just can’t hope to recover from a mistake like that.”

Taking his Griffith Truck and Equipment No. 52 to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. for the first time on Saturday night, Hahn again had a solid run at the front going, but this time contact from another car would send him backward. Onward to Double X Speedway on Sunday, Hahn again had a strong run going before colliding with another driver.

“On Saturday, I got knocked into the wall and that broke the Jacobs Ladder and Sunday the driver in front of me got crossed up and I just couldn’t get it slowed down in time. At both tracks, I was able to finish, but it made the weekend pretty frustrating. Despite that, I am looking forward to going back to Lake Ozark and Double X. It was my first time at both tracks, and they are a lot of fun.”

With cars and engines at the ready, Hahn will turn wheels towards Iowa for Saturday’s showdown at Knoxville Raceway and Mason City Motor Speedway on Sunday.

“Knoxville is a beast that I want to tame. We’ve gotten better every time we’ve rolled out, but that place takes a lot of laps to get right and from what I’ve seen of Mason City, it’s another one that requires you to be a smooth as possible so really, I feel like it can only play to my advantage in getting ready for the Nationals.”
