Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 31, 2017) – Big Game Motorsports produced a pair of strong results last weekend as the Muddy sponsored team earned two top 10s to give them 14 top 10s in 17 races this season.

“You want to be quick,” said Kerry Madsen, who joined the team as its driver this season. “The No. 1 thing is we have to be fast, which we are. I knew we’d be quick, but I can’t believe how quick we are. With new people and new teams we had a workload to get prepared balance-wise. Now it’s go-time in June, July and August. We had a limited schedule to get that done, but I feel extremely confident we have a good baseline.”

Last weekend’s action began on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., where Madsen maneuvered from fifth to third place in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the third row for the Danny Williams Memorial main event.

Madsen climbed into the runner-up position within the first couple of laps before spinning. He restarted 19th, but was able to rally to post a sixth-place result.

“We went straight to second,” he said. “I was pushing pretty hard to catch the leader. I hit a big rut in turn two and it spun out on me so we had to go to the back. It was a bit of a shame because the car was really good. I think we had a race-winning car.”

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, where Madsen timed in second quickest during qualifying before charging from sixth to second place in a heat race. The six-car feature inversion lined him up on the inside of the third row for the main event.

“We just started to battle for second and the yellow came out,” he said. “We had an issue on the restart and fell to fourth. The car didn’t take off and that cost me a position.”

Madsen ended fourth, which marked his seventh top five of the season.

The Muddy backed team will return to action this Thursday through Saturday at Jackson Motorplex for the 39th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series. The finale of the event pays $25,000 to win.

“The effort Tod (Quiring) has put into the track, it’s exciting,” he said. “They are making this a bigger and better event, which is what the sport needs. It’s exciting that we have someone doing this. I think it’s going to be fantastic. I feel like we have one of the fastest cars in the country. I’m feeling pretty confident.”

Madsen will also participate in a couple of community activities this week. AGCO, which is located in Jackson, will host an open house on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Madsen will be there to sign autographs for the fans. He will then serve as the Grand Marshall for the Town & Country Day Parade throughout downtown Jackson beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning.
