Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 16, 2016) – Josh Baughman has a pair of Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour races on tap this weekend.

Baughman will compete on Saturday at St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, Mo., and Sunday at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo., for the High Roller Classic.

“We’re excited to get back to 360 racing this weekend and see if we can put together a couple of strong performances,” he said.

Baughman is ready to put last weekend’s 56th annual 5-Hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals behind him.

“The biggest thing is qualifying,” he said. “If you can’t qualify there you might as well load your stuff up. We were too far behind the eight ball to pull ourselves out.”

Baughman opened the weekend at Knoxville Raceway last Wednesday by qualifying 42nd quickest, which missed the heat race inversion by only two positions. He then placed ninth in a heat race, won the C Main and advanced from 21st to 15th in the B Main.

He returned to the half-mile oval on Friday and timed in 25th quickest in his group, finished seventh in a heat race and ended 15th in a B Main.

That started him 12th in a D Main on Saturday.

“We struggled early on during the weekend,” he said. “This new engine we put in Saturday made lots of speed and we moved forward.”

Baughman advanced from 12th to sixth in the race and narrowly missed a transfer into the C Main.

“I don’t know if we can take anything from this week,” he said. “We might as well throw the notebook in the trash, but we learned a lot during the 360 Knoxville Nationals (the week before) that we can apply to our program.”
