Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 27, 2016) – White Lightning Motorsports drivers Jamie Ball and Devin Kline both posted their 10th top-five finish of the season last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

Ball opened the action by qualifying third quickest before he maneuvered from sixth to third place in a heat race to make the feature inversion.

“It was another great qualifying effort,” he said. “I think we’re putting ourselves in a great spot for the 360 Knoxville Nationals in a couple of weeks. We moved forward in our heat race as well.”

Ball started the main event on the inside of the second row.

“The track was pretty fast compared to normal,” he said. “Everyone was pretty good whether you were on top or bottom. I pretty much maintained fourth the whole race. We had a great battle with Joe Beaver and then Josh Baughman. It was probably the hardest battle for fourth I’ve ever had.”

Ball finished with a fourth-place result.

Kline was just as efficient in the 305ci class. He timed in third quickest during qualifying before advancing from fifth to fourth place in a heat race. Kline also started on the inside of the second row for the feature.

“I ran third the first couple of laps,” he said. “I got to second and then went back to third. On a late restart I got by (Christian) Bowman for second. We were all over the leader at the end. He had the bottom plugged up and the top was the far way around and I didn’t have enough to get around him.”

Kline settled for the runner-up result, which was his eighth straight top five. He has finished either first or second during six of those eight races.

Ball will return to competition this Saturday at Knoxville Raceway while Kline has the weekend off.
