Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 28, 2016) – Big Game Motorsports pilot Danny Lasoski used a podium finish last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway to claw back within five points of the lead in the National Sprint League championship standings.

The night began with Lasoski qualifying third quickest around the half-mile oval, where the Muddy sponsored team then advanced from fifth to fourth place in a heat race. That lined Lasoski up on the inside of the second row for the 25-lap main event.

“We started out really good,” he said. “I ran the top too hard and it got the left rear tire too hot. I tried to save the left rear from blistering and basically ran it off it. I relied on the top and ended up third. Sammy Swindell got by me toward the end. Image that me getting passed on the bottom.”

Lasoski’s third-place result moved him into the lead in the Knoxville Raceway championship standings.

Last weekend began on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., for a co-sanctioned event between the National Sprint League and the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

“It’s the luck of the draw,” he said. “We drew the last pill in the box (for qualifying). We didn’t get the job done in qualifying. That started us deep in the heat race.”

Lasoski timed in 21st quickest, but he rallied from sixth to fourth place in a heat race to lock into the 13th starting position for the main event.

“Coming up through there we were racing with (Donny) Schatz and (Brad) Sweet,” he said. “I got Schatz cleared and then we had a green-white-checkered finish. On the restart when we came off turn two someone keyed the mic on the RACEiver. I got out of the gas thinking they were calling a caution and it let Schatz go by. I’m not very happy with that.”

Lasoski ended with a seventh-place finish, which marked his fifth top five of the season in World of Outlaws competition.

The Muddy backed team will return to action this Friday and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

“We always love going to Knoxville,” Lasoski said. “We’re looking forward to two days in a row there and being able to learn as much as we can with the Knoxville Nationals right around the corner.”
