Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 14, 2016) – White Lightning Motorsports driver Jamie Ball capped last weekend’s doubleheader at Knoxville Raceway by posting his 11th top-10 finish of the season.

“I blew up my good engine on Friday running second,” he said. “To get another top 10 after the disappointment on Friday is nothing to hang our heads about.”

The weekend began on Friday with Ball qualifying fifth quickest around the half-mile oval. He then advanced from fourth to second place in a heat race to lock into the fourth starting position for the main event.

“I had really high hopes,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of speed lately. I got to second and we were in position to win when we broke a piston around Lap 6. We did everything right and put ourselves in a good position. It’s hard to explain how disappointing it was. We’ve had the speed all year. The car was perfect. My crew has been working so hard. I wanted to get the win not only for them, but in front of the big World of Outlaws crowd as well.”

Ball was credited with a 20th-place result.

The team put the backup engine in for Saturday’s event, in which Ball timed in seventh quickest before winning a heat race from fourth.

“We went through some of the growing pains of having a different engine in,” he said. “Every engine is different. We were able to tune things back up and get where we need to be in the heat race to win our first heat of the year. But the track was so fast in the feature there wasn’t a lot of passing.”

Ball advanced from seventh to sixth place in the main event.

He, along with teammate Devin Kline in the 305ci class, will return to action this Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

“I only have one engine so I’m only running Knoxville until further notice,” Ball said.
