Memorabilia Auction to Benefit the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame to Take Place on Saturday at 12 Noon
The annual memorabilia auction that takes place during the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals will occur at 12 Noon this Saturday, September 26, on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum. The museum-benefit auction also benefits the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Autographed items being auctioned include those from the worlds of dirt late model racing, NASCAR stock car racing, and sprint car racing.
According to museum curator Tom Schmeh, “We are very proud of our relationship with the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame and its representatives Bill Holder and Bob Markos. This is going to be a great auction this year, as we have unique autographed items from Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon and many other champions already secured. In addition, museum volunteer and past board president Kathy Krafka Harkema has already donated three beautiful hand-made checkered-flag-themed items: two black and white checkered pillowcases; a red, black and white table runner; and a red, black and white checkered fleece stadium blanket. And museum volunteer Jim Rasmussen will also be talking with dirt late model owners and drivers this week about used body panel donations, as he has done in years past.”
Those individuals interested in learning more about the activities this week at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum should visit the museum’s web site at www.sprintcarhof.com.
