Covington Ready To Make His Rookie Nationals Start Tonight For Night One Of The 2015 Knoxville Nationals
Covington Motorsports- Glenpool, Ok. (Aug 12, 2015) Matt Covington and crew is ready to kick off their rookie debut at the famed Knoxville Raceway tonight for night one of the 2015 Knoxville Nationals.
“I am a little nervous but excited to get tonight underway,” stated Covington. “We had a subpar 360 Nationals last week after a deep draw and poor timing effort. That set us back for the whole weekend and wasn’t what we had hoped for going in. To be honest, I would be pretty pumped to be able to come out of here tonight with a good point total that sets us up for a shot at making the A on Saturday. We had some really good speed here in the 410 this year. This place and the nationals just take a ton of experience, learning and a little luck to have a good overall week and run. Last weekend we had a small mishap and fire at the Capitani Classic on Sunday that gave us a small set back. Pretty sure we finally figured out what caused it and hopefully tonight we can get a good qualifying draw and then transfer out of our heat to set us up for a solid finish in the A. That is in a perfect world I guess, and I am just going to be optimistic and hope for a great 410 Nationals and successful rookie start for me at the famed Knoxville Nationals and see what happens.”
