FVP National Sprint League Races for $5,000 Saturday at Knoxville!

Windom, MN (June 22, 2015) – After almost a month off, the FVP National Sprint League roars back into action this Saturday night, June 27 at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa! The race will be the track’s Mid-Season Championship, and the 25-lap feature will pay $5,000 to win! The race also serves as a qualifying event for the DeBerg Concrete $25,000 Triple Crown Challenge.

The event precedes a busy month of July that will see the series competing in ten events that include NSL Fair Speedweek and the $10,000 to win finale in “The Road to Knoxville” at I-80 Speedway in Nebraska.

Danny Lasoski has been on a roll lately, winning for the third time this season at the Knoxville Raceway last Saturday night. He also beat the World of Outlaws at I-80 Speedway earlier this month. “The Dude” won the NSL event on May 9 at Knoxville, and leads the current point standings with the series.

San Jose, California’s Tim Kaeding picked up a win Sunday night at the Huset’s Speedway. He ran second in the NSL race in May at Knoxville, and is currently second in the points race. Two-time Knoxville Raceway champion, Brian Brown, seven-time Knoxville champ, Terry McCarl and five-time Huset’s Speedway champion, Mark Dobmeier, round out the current top five in the NSL standings.

The rest of the top ten in points are expected to compete as well on Saturday. They include defending Knoxville track champion, Ian Madsen, seven-time IRA champion, Bill Balog, nine-time Australian World Series Sprintcars titlist, Brooke Tatnell, 2006 Knoxville 410 Rookie of the Year, Dusty Zomer and two-time USAC sprint and midget champion, Bryan Clauson.

Many more NSL members are expected to compete including Davey Heskin, Austin McCarl, Lynton Jeffrey, Matt Juhl, Chris Martin, Josh Schneiderman, Tasker Phillips, Austin Johnson, Dakota Hendrickson, Paul Nienhiser, Ryan Bunton and more!

Though Lasoski leads the Knoxville Raceway point standings as well, Justin Henderson is right on his tail. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota driver leads a strong contingent of Knoxville locals that include 2013 Knoxville track champion, Bronson Maeschen,Craig Dollansky, who has competed in 18 Knoxville Nationals Championship events, Dustin Selvage, RJ Johnson and many more!

Grandstand gates open at 6:00 p.m. Saturday. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:45 p.m. with qualifying and racing to follow. Admission is $15 for adults 20+, youth 13-19 are $8 and youth 6-12 are $4. Children 5 and under are FREE! Pit passes are $25.
