TKS Motorsports – A New Direction!
The TKS Motorsports #2KS team is going in a new direction with their driver. Don Droud Jr. has been released from the team. Team owner Troy Renfro is in the process of finalizing a driver for the car, and is planning on having the car in competition this Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway.
The team was new to start the 2015 season, and has struggled a bit, especially in qualifying. “We released Don Droud this week,” says Troy. “Things just weren’t working, and we needed to make a change. I wish things were different, but that’s where we are. We are in a building process with this team.”
Renfro is quick to mention that his driver was not the only issue with the new team. “I’m not pointing fingers at anyone,” he says. “The team has worked hard. It could be something we have going on as well. This isn’t easy. Don is my friend. He’s a great person and I wish him well.”
The team is determined to get on track at Knoxville. “This is a new team, and there are going to be ups and downs,” says Troy. “We’re reevaluating some things right now, and we’re looking to bounce back soon. Everyone on the team is committed to getting this car to the front at Knoxville.”
Troy is also very thankful for the team’s partners. “The thing that amazed me this week is the support we have for this team,” he says. “Everyone surrounding the team has been very supportive, from Casey’s to Des Moines Industrial Products to Vahlco Wheels. We plan on going back to work at Knoxville Saturday night.”
TKS Motorsports is always open to new perspective partners!
