Next Thursday Night's "Sprint Car 101" Forum to Feature Andee Beierle & McKenna Haase

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (June 13, 2015) – Next Thursday night’s “Sprint Car 101” forum at the National Sprint Car Museum will feature North Dakota’s Andee Beierle and Iowa’s own McKenna Haase, who is the first female to win a sprint car feature at the legendary Knoxville Raceway. In fact, McKenna has now won two winged 305-cubic-inch sprint car features at the ‘Sprint Car Capital of the World.’ The forum, which is free and open to the public, will start at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 18.

Museum executive director Bob Baker said today, “Knoxville has a rich history of women who have raced sprint cars here on a weekly basis, like Andee Beierle, Natalie Sather and Melinda Dumesny, and in special events only, like Judi Bates, Cheryl Glass, Shawna Wilskey and Erin Crocker. Obviously, Erin’s placement of her cars in the Knoxville Nationals A-Main, on two separate occasions, is a huge accomplishment. But McKenna’s two recent ‘305’ feature wins here are big news stories, too. And she is developing a fan following similar to Melinda Dumesny’s back in the day. This should be an entertaining and educational evening with two of the best female racers currently in the country.”

There will be no “Sprint Car 101” forums in July nor August. Those seeking more information on the non-profit museum’s Third Thursday series of “Sprint Car 101” forums should visit www.sprintcarhof.com.
