Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 8, 2015) – Race car drivers and fans dream about the weekend Big Game Motorsports put together with Danny Lasoski.

The Muddy sponsored team scored a pair of victories in impressive fashion to give them three consecutive wins and seven podium finishes in the last eight races.

“I wouldn’t call it peaking, not even close,” Lasoski said. “This weekend was a lot of hard work that came forth plus luck was on our side. It’s definitely a morale booster for our team. We all work real hard and have goals. Our goals are to win every race.”

Big Game Motorsports did just that starting last Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., during the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown. Lasoski qualified fourth quickest and he advanced from third to win a heat race to lock himself into the dash.

“Qualifying fourth is just half of it,” he said. “I-80 had a ton of rain and the Kosiski’s did a great job on the race track. They worked their tail off and gave us a race track with options. And when the draw puts you on the pole of the dash you still have to put everything together, but luck plays a big part.”

Lasoski claimed the dash win and with it the pole position for the 30-lap feature. He rode in second for the first five laps before passing Kerry Madsen with a slide job in turn four for the lead on Lap 6. Lasoski maintained the top position before a red flag with four laps remaining threw a wrench into everything.

“They had a red for a fuel stop after so many cautions,” he said. “They told me (Donny Schatz) was right there. The whole race being the leader you never searched. I never got a chance to search. When you’re running second or back you search.”

Lasoski led the restart lap before Schatz took the top spot with three laps remaining. The duo traded the lead for the next two laps with Schatz edging ahead at the start/finish line each lap, including the white flag lap.

“He made a big arch into turn three and passed me and then it was on,” Lasoski said. “It was by luck I hit a good corner in turns one and two. I went into the final turns side by side and never took my foot off the floor. It was who got the best grip was going to win. It’s a lot of fun to be able to race somebody side by side without them chopping your front end off or doing whatever. I had a blast racing somebody side by side for the win. It was one of those nights you don’t have very often.”

After the duo swapped the lead four times in the final two laps, Lasoski’s momentum propelled the Muddy backed sprint car to a victory by 0.077 seconds. It marked his 90th career World of Outlaws triumph and gave the team a big boost heading into Saturday’s event at Knoxville Raceway.

Lasoski kicked off the race by setting quick time during qualifying. He then advanced from sixth to second place in a heat race to lock himself into the feature redraw, where he pulled the No. 1 to garner the pole position for the 20-lap main event.

“It was the best car I’ve had there in quite a few years,” he said. “The race car hasn’t been as good as we wanted it when the race track slicks off with a full load of fuel. We’ve been working on it and it was a different race car. It also helps having clean air. When you have clean air and horsepower like we have it’s hard to beat.”

Lasoski led the distance of the nonstop race to win by more than eight seconds, which equated to nearly half a lap on the half-mile oval. It was his 103rd career win at Knoxville Raceway and extended his lead in the championship standings to 203 points.

Big Game Motorsports is scheduled for a World of Outlaws tripleheader this weekend with races on Friday at Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa, Saturday at Knoxville Raceway and Sunday at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D.
