TKS Motorsports – Ready for Saturday!

Results-wise, it was another difficult night for the TKS Motorsports #2KS team and driver Don Droud Jr. last Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway. In the pit and the shop, however, the attitude could not be more positive. The new team is gearing up for another Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway.

Qualifying was again the bugaboo for the team, and it had them chasing things from the back of their heat and the B main. “I’ve had a chance to look back on Saturday and reflect a little bit,” says Don. “It was a different track with a little less passing than the week before, but it was the same track for everyone.”

Don would move forward in the heat and the B main, falling one spot short of a transfer in each. “If we’re starting up front, this is a different story, so obviously, we’d like to get our qualifying down, and we will,” he says. “(Owner) Troy (Renfro) and the team give me a great car. I had someone tell me yesterday that difficult times are what make championship teams. I believe in that.”

The TKS Motorsports team is in it for the long haul. “Troy knows that I’m not going anywhere, and neither is he,” says Don. “I’m really proud of how hard this TKS Motorsports team is working. There’s such a great atmosphere around the car. With all of us pulling in one direction, we’re going to get things figured out.”

Renfro is equally motivated. “We’re not giving up,” he says. “We thought coming from the back to the front last week that we had some things figured out. We were wrong. We’ll make some more changes and keep working hard. The people we’ve assembled on this team are all in, and no one is down and out, I can assure you of that!”

TKS Motorsports is always open to new perspective partners!
