Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. (May 26, 2015) – Devin Kline continued his stellar track record at Knoxville Raceway last Saturday when he scored his second win of the season and fourth career with White Lightning Motorsports.

“The night started off well,” he said. “We qualified second quickest and we weren’t that far off quick time. It still hadn’t felt quite right and so Larry (Ball Jr.) made a few changes before the heat race. We threw it at the car and we went from sixth to first. The car felt amazing. My confidence was pretty high and then we got lucky enough in the redraw to get the pole.”

Kline took advantage of the pole position for the main event on the half-mile oval in Knoxville, Iowa, following a standout start to the night. He led every lap of the feature, despite a bunch of cautions that never let the field string out.

“At the beginning of the race I was having a hard time hitting the bottom groove well,” he said. “I had to tell myself to calm down and breathe the throttle a little bit. Hitting the bottom is about sticking it until the exit (of the corner) and having that patience.”

Kline did just that to secure the triumph, which marked his fourth feature win during seven races that he has taken the green flag.

Fellow White Lightning Motorsports driver Jamie Ball didn’t have as fun of a night.

“Once again our night was full of ups and downs,” he said. “We were third quickest in hot laps. We didn’t change much for qualifying. I just didn’t hit my line very well and I think we had the wrong gear in. I ended up timing out of the top eight, which you need to be to get into the feature inversion.”

Ball qualified 11th quickest, but he rebounded to win a heat race from the fourth starting position. That lined him up on the inside of the sixth row for the main event.

“It felt really good to win the heat race,” he said. “I felt decent going into the feature and had plans to go forward and I just couldn’t get the car to hook up anywhere. I tried every line and nothing really seemed to work. It’s been the story of our season so far.”

Ball finished with a 13th-place result.

He headed to I-80 Speedway on Sunday for an event with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints.

“I went out for hot laps and the engine wouldn’t RPM over 7500,” he said. “We came in and changed the MSD box and went out for the heat race. I had the world’s toughest heat race with Jack Dover, Jon Agan and Don Droud Jr. in it and I finished where I started.”

Ball’s fourth-place result lined him up on the inside of the seventh row for the feature.

“For the first four laps the car wasn’t too bad and then it started to lay down like it did earlier in the night so I pulled in,” he said. “Hopefully we can get these electrical problems sorted out soon.”

Ball, who leads the championship standings with the Sprint Invaders, is scheduled to compete with the series this Friday at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa, before he and Kline return to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.
