Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 25, 2015) – Big Game Motorsports capped last weekend by earning a third consecutive podium finish at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.

Danny Lasoski drove the Muddy backed team to fourth in qualifying before maneuvering from sixth to second place during a heat race. The feature redraw lined Lasoski up on the inside of the second row for the 20-lap main event.

“We’re tweaking and trying to get better,” he said. “We ran third most of the race and got up to second when Brian Brown pulled into the pits with a problem. We had a late restart and I would have really had to give the leader a dirty slide job and I don’t race like that so I pulled up. We lost a lot of momentum and got passed to end third.”

The third-place result marked the eighth top five of the season for Big Game Motorsports. It also maintained the championship points lead at Knoxville Raceway for Lasoski, who has a 49-point advantage.

Last weekend kicked off on Friday at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn., with the FVP National Sprint League. Lasoski opened the night by timing in 10th quickest in the Muddy sponsored sprint car.

“We just missed it,” he said. “We were trying some different things with the race car that didn’t work and it dug us a little hole.”

The team rebounded in the heat race as Lasoski advanced from fourth to win. It moved him into the dash, but he pulled the second-highest number – nine – in the redraw to line up on the inside of the fifth row.

“We picked up three positions in the dash to finish sixth, which is where we started the main event,” he said. “That’s when the big driver error took place. We spun the wheels on the start and lost a spot or two. I was going to make it up in the first corner. I took it in on the outside and low and behold I didn’t come out on the other end. I got over the cushion and spun it out. I was a sitting duck for all the cars coming at us. We took a big hit. I feel like an idiot. The guys had to stay up late and get a new car ready for Knoxville.”

Lasoski was unable to restart the race following the contact on the opening lap and he was credited with a 22nd-place result. He ranks second in the championship standings – only 56 points out of the lead.

Sunday’s FVP National Sprint League event at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., was rained out.

Big Game Motorsports will return to action this Thursday at Saint Francois County Speedway in Farmington, Mo., and Friday at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo., with the FVP National Sprint League before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
