Swept Podium and Micro Mania
Russ Hall led the 18-lap 360 feature at Knoxville Raceway from the outset. Presenting a new SCHNEE stack tube car for the season opener, Russ overcame a four-lap dash to the checkers which held off Justin Henderson, the nights quick qualifier, in his BDS owned EAGLE car. Henderson got a run to take the lead on lap 16, but Hall shot under him going into turn one and won a classic dogfight for his third career win at Knoxville. Henderson followed ahead of Tony Bruce Jr. giving EMi all three spots on the podium.
Dan Souder prevailed at Linda's Speedway piloting a STALLARD micro tuned by Mark Stallard himself. This team continues to contribute to the development of the new STALLARD product line. EMi's own, Frank Galusha, broke the seal on the new 2015 STALLARD chassis by driving to the front at KAM Raceway. Father Ron and Michael "smiley" Wagner were on hand to help dial the new car in. Other team STALLARD drivers, Miquel Marquez and Danny Sams were also successful at El Paso Speedway and North Florida Speedway respectively.
Other birds were flying across the country, from Louisiana to New York, Minnesota down to New Mexico, EAGLE cars won the race. Tommy Johnson beat the Louisiana Bayou Sprints at Baton Rouge Raceway. Darryl Ruggles clinched his second win at Canandaigua this season, and Mike Stien debuted a new EAGLE to win at Arlington Raceway. Wes Wofford earned his second win of the season with wins at Southern New Mexico Speedway and Sandia Motor Speedway.
