Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 30, 2014) – Big Game Motorsports driver Craig Dollansky scored another podium finish last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

“It was a good building block,” he said. “I would have liked to be two positions further, but we learned some things that will be helpful as we approach the Knoxville Nationals. We feel good about the direction we’re headed.”

Dollansky started the night by timing in eighth quickest.

“We haven’t really qualified as good as we need to,” he said. “I don’t think our pill draw helped us a whole lot. We went out fairly late. We’re lacking a little bit of speed. When it comes to race mode I feel like we’re in the game there.”

Dollansky then maneuvered from fifth to fourth place in his heat race, which locked the Big Game Treestands car into the 20-lap feature in the fifth starting position.

“Early in the feature we were tight and just trying to maintain,” he said. “Toward the end of the race our car came in and was better. I feel like we learned some things there to be a little stronger to start the race, but yet still be there at the end. Really we’re just working with some things with our program to figure out where our best foot is going to be.”

Dollansky’s third-place finish marked the 10th top five of the season for the Big Game Treestands team, which will return to Knoxville Raceway this Sunday for the Capitani Classic. It is one of two final points races at the half-mile track and last year saw more than 80 competitors.

“It’s as strong as anywhere in the country,” Dollansky said. “Having everyone race for 24 spots in the A Main, it’s a tough field. It helps to see where you’re at.”
