Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 28, 2014) – Danny Lasoski has spent the past two weeks working out the bugs in his new sprint car.

The progress was evident during a trio of races in the Midwest last weekend, when Lasoski earned a pair of runner-up results with the Midwest Open Wheel Association prior to charging from last to a fifth-place finish at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.

“We have a brand new Schnee chassis,” he said. “It’s a good race car. I just have to figure everything out.”

Lasoski kicked off last week with the MOWA Series at Highland Speedway in Highland, Ill., on Wednesday by winning his heat race. That locked him into the dash, where he advanced from sixth to fourth place.

He then maneuvered from outside the second row to a second-place finish in the feature.

“We didn’t have anything for (Christopher Bell) on Wednesday night,” he said.

Lasoski continued his momentum on Thursday at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Ill., where he maneuvered from sixth to second place in his heat race. He then won the dash to start the main event on the pole.

“We took off and were in the lead,” he said. “Rico (Abreu) found the rubber before I did and that was the end of the race.”

Lasoski’s second straight runner-up result carried him into Saturday’s event at Knoxville Raceway.

“We were stellar right out of the box,” he said.

Lasoski qualified fifth quickest, but he finished sixth in his heat race – one spot out of a lock-in position into the main event.

“In the heat race I was way too tight,” he said. “I freed it up for the B Main and freed it up more from the A Main.”

After winning the B Main, Lasoski started the feature on the inside of the 11th row. However, he was forced to spin to avoid a flipping car on the frontstretch during the opening lap.

“Starting in the back you try to be aggressive but smart,” he said.

Lasoski restarted at the back of the field and he rallied to earn a fifth-place finish, which marked his 13th top five of the season.

“I thought it was a pretty good race car to be able to pass that many cars,” he said. “We ended the night on a positive note. We made gains. I’m looking forward to the next two weeks of racing.”

Lasoski will pilot a car for Mark Burch Motorsports during the 24th annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals this Thursday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway. He will wrap up the weekend on Sunday at the half-mile track in his own car during the Capitani Classic.
