White Lightning Motorsports Rained Out at Knoxville Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 3, 2014) – The White Lightning Motorsports trio of Jamie Ball, Larry Ball Jr. and Devin Kline were rained out last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
Weather engulfed the area shortly after heat races started and eventually washed out the event.
“It rained for probably 10 minutes and then they tried to rework the track for about a half hour and then it started raining again,” Ball said. “I was really hoping they’d get it in because it’d be like 15 hot laps wide open (in the main event).”
After qualifying seventh quickest in the 360 class, Ball would have likely started on the front row of the main event if he had advanced through his heat race. Unfortunately, rain ended that opportunity and all drivers were given show-up points.
In positive news, Kline made his return to the 305 class after missing the past few weeks. He qualified 10th quickest and finished third in the only heat race that was completed before the rain.
“Thanks to Ostrich Racing Engines he was able to get back out there,” Ball said. “He looked pretty good.”
Ball Jr. timed in 22nd quickest during qualifying in the 410 class.
The trio will return to Knoxville Raceway for competition this Saturday.
Additionally, look for Ball and White Lightning Motorsports on MAVTV this Thursday. The television show documenting Knoxville Raceway is scheduled air at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. (Central) and the SPEED SPORT Challenge kart race that Ball took part in last month in North Carolina will be televised at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. (Central).
