FEBRUARY & MARCH “SPRINT CAR 101” PROGRAMS ANNOUNCED; TWO IN KNOXVILLE AND ONE IN ALGONA, IOWA

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (February 3, 2014) - The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum is pleased to announce its line-up of free and open-to-the-public Sprint Car 101 educational programs for February and March, including a bonus program in Algona, Iowa. The two Third Thursday Series of programs will take place on February 20 and March 20 in Knoxville with evenings featuring “Knoxville Nationals: The First Fifty Years” book authors Eric Arnold & Bob Wilson, and sprint car veteran Joe Beaver, respectively. The Sprint Car 101 ‘On the Road’ program will take place on Sunday, March 2, with an afternoon spotlighting North Central Iowa racing veterans Jim Edgington, Dick Forbrook and Stacy Redmond.

According to museum curator Tom Schmeh today, “Due to our winter weather, we were forced to postpone our program with Eric Arnold and Bob Wilson until Thursday, February 20, and the one with Joe Beaver until Thursday, March 20. However, we are very much looking forward to both programs. We are also excited about working with Chad Meyer at the Kossuth County Ag & Motorsports Museum in Algona on the afternoon with Jim Edgington, Dick Forbrook and Stacy Redmond. This will be our second-ever Sprint Car 101 ‘On the Road’ and it follows our very successful one in Avon, Indiana, in December. I encourage sprint car fans in North Central Iowa to come out at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, to the Kossuth County Fairgrounds in Algona.”

Those individuals interested in learning more about the “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum are urged to visit www.sprintcarhof.com.
