NATIONAL SPRINT CAR HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE ANNOUNCEMENT & MUSEUM-BENEFIT CHILI BOWL AUCTION TO BE HELD IN TULSA

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (December 20, 2013) – The non-profit National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation is gearing up for a big week in Tulsa, Oklahoma, during the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals, presented by General Tire, on January 14-18. The museum’s week will be highlighted by the announcement of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame’s “25th Class” on Tuesday, January 14, and its museum-benefit auction on Thursday, January 16. In addition, its three divisions of North American Sprint Car Poll awards will be announced on January 15-18.

According to museum executive director Bob Baker, “We are very excited to be naming our National Sprint Car Hall of Fame ‘Class of 2014’ on Tuesday of Chili Bowl week. This will be our 25th induction banquet on May 31, 2014, and it will be a special event for the new inductees and our many past inductees. We have to thank Emmett Hahn and Lanny Edwards, National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductees themselves, for continuing to allow us to have a presence at their week-long midget car racing event.”

Added museum special events coordinator David Herrmann, “Our museum-benefit auction, which also benefits The Parent Child Center of Tulsa, will take place on Thursday, January 16, at 11 a.m. inside the Tulsa State Fairgrounds’ River Spirit Expo Center in the bleachers in turn four. We will again have a huge assortment of unique and autographed memorabilia from the worlds of sprint car, midget car, stock car and drag car racing. In addition, we will have our Maxim/Rider sprint car/raffle car in our Chili Bowl Trade Show booth all week.”

Intermission announcements of the museum’s 2013 North American Sprint Car Poll awards will also be made each night of the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals on the following schedule: Wednesday – 410’s, Thursday – 360’s, Friday – Non-Winged, and Saturday – Outstanding Contribution to the Sport Award. Nominees for the 2013 Outstanding Contribution to the Sport Award include Bryan Autullo of Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (FAST), Jeannie Butler of Butlerbuilt Seats, Aaron Fry of Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS), Forrest Lucas of Lucas Oil Products, Dave Pusateri of Trophy Cup, and retiring National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Fred Rahmer of Pennsylvania.
