HMS Update - Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals
Today is the start of 10 days of sprint car racing here in Iowa and it is all kicked off by the Thursday and Friday preliminary nights of the Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals at the famed Knoxville Raceway. Fans will see probably the deepest and most talented field of 360 drivers all year this weekend race for the $10,000 top prize going to Saturday night’s A Feature winner. The past 3 years that man has been Shane Stewart aboard Paul Silva’s #57 but there is likely to be over 100 drivers trying to change that. We are hoping for a solid showing in the Napa Auto Parts, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Momentum Racing Suspensions, Jackson Compaction, Ortega’s Appliance, Ostrich powered No. 74x Maxim. Last year’s 360 Nationals did not go the way that we wanted them to but we came back to have a strong 410 run the week after before losing an engine on the prelim night. This past Saturday we got some valuable track time and although we didn’t have near the result that we were hoping for we gained some good experience and information to apply to our car and my driving for the rest of the time we are here. We qualify on Friday, as the field is split into half with some going today and others tomorrow. The finish points along with qualifying will determine the lineups for Saturday’s features.
