3M PROVIDES GRANT TO NATIONAL SPRINT CAR MUSEUM ON BEHALF OF 3M VOLUNTEER DENNIS D. JOHNSON
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (April 19, 2013) - The 3M Foundation has donated $250 to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in recognition of Dennis D. Johnson’s commitment to the community of Knoxville, Iowa.
Dennis has donated seventy-six (76) hours to the 501(c)(3) non-profit museum, which is located in the “Sprint Car Capital of the World.” As a volunteer, he has helped museum curator Tom Schmeh with the exhibits and displays at the world’s only museum solely dedicated to preserving the history of the sport of sprint car racing.
“3M employees and retirees generously give their time and skills to help improve lives,” said Kimberly Price, vice-president of 3M Community Affairs. “We are pleased to recognize their commitment to their communities.”
As part of the 3M Volunteer Match, the 3M Foundation will donate $250 to eligible non-profit organizations for which a 3M employee volunteers 20 hours or a 3M retiree volunteers 25 hours or more per calendar year. Since 2000, Volunteer Matches totaling over $4.5-million have gone to over 2,700 schools or non-profit organizations in fifty states, plus the District of Columbia.
