"SPRINT CAR 101: WHAT'S NEW AT KNOXVILLE RACEWAY IN 2013"? - POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH 21, 2013
Knoxville, Iowa (February 18, 2013) - The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum's 'Sprint Car 101' program,
"What's New at Knoxville Raceway in 2013" is being postponed until Thursday, March 21, 2013, due to the forecasted
blizzard, which is on target for the greater Knoxville area this Thursday.
Bob Baker, Executive Director of the museum stated, "With the forecast calling for blizzard-like conditions for both this
coming Thursday and Thursday evening, we thought it would be in the best interest of everyone involved to reschedule this
'Sprint Car 101' for next month". Scheduled to appear are the new management team for Knoxville Raceway, headed up by
general manager Brian Stickel, race director John McCoy, human resources director Gary Schumacher, and members of the
Marion County Fairboard's Race Committee, who will all be on hand next month to talk about the changes at Knoxville Raceway
in 2013.
"We were really looking forward to a good crowd of race fans coming up to our second-floor this Thursday night, but with all of the
snow we are scheduled to see this Thursday, it will just work out safer for everyone to be with us next month on Mach 21st, when
hopefully the weather will be more accommodating", Baker noted. As in the past, this 'Sprint Car 101' is made available to race fans
and the general public at no charge, as part of the museum's initiative to 'promote the future of sprint car racing, and preserve the
sport's past'.
