LASOSKI EARNS A TRIO OF TOP FIVES LAST WEEKEND

Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 5) – Earlier this season, the pill draws and inverts fell perfectly for Danny Lasoski.

The veteran knew that he had to take advantage and he did, capitalizing on numerous front-row starts to record a handful of victories. Lately, the luck has reversed.

“That’s how racing goes,” he said. “When you do get those good draws, you better cherish them.”

The Dover, Mo., native was bit by a high redraw and tough invert last weekend, when he recorded three top-five finishes despite undesirable starting positions.

On Thursday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., Lasoski powered from seventh – last – to finish second in his heat race with the ASCS Midwest Region. That earned him the most points and a trip to the redraw, where he grabbed the No. 4 pill.

After starting outside the second row for the main event, Lasoski stayed in the top five the entire race and finished third in a performance he was less than thrilled with.

“It was a good race track,” he said. “If your car was good, you were good.

“The bottom line is we just plain and simple got beat. No excuses.”

He again competed with the ASCS Midwest on Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., where he won his heat race to garner another trip to the redraw. This time he pulled the No. 8, which is the highest a driver can get.

Lasoski finished fifth in the feature and was happy to journey to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, to race a 410 engine on Saturday.

He entered the night with more than a 100-point advantage and his domination continued through the first half of the night. Lasoski qualified second and charged from eighth to third in his heat race.

However, the invert for the 20-lap feature was a “12”, meaning the veteran would start inside the sixth row. Lasoski worked his way to fourth on the narrow track and extended his point’s lead.

“It is definitely a positive,” he said. “We passed the most cars. We’re not happy with fourth, but the leader was coming back to us at a high rate of speed.”

Lasoski will race with the World of Outlaws on Friday at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. He’ll wrap up the weekend on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
