Qualifying Crash KO's Cox
One week after grabbing a career best at the Knoxville Raceway, Justyn Cox quickly learned how the other side felt as a vicious crash in his group qualifying session brought his night to an abrupt halt.
As the green flag waved on the session, Justyn quickly began shaking out his Brian Brown Racing/Oakley/STL No.21c sprinter. With the group style qualifying, hot laps and time trials were combined.
As he came out of turn four and headed down the front stretch, Cox felt something snap on his 7 Industries/College Cyclery/Searsboro telephone Company entry and the youngster was sent into a series of vicious flips in turns one and two causing severe damage to the car and abruptly ending his night before it got a chance to start.
“Saturday was just one of those nights. I think i managed to get 1 lap in,” said Cox. “The axel breaking is just a unlucky thing. The rear end only had a few nights on it. As for when I race next I'm not sure. I'd love to try and get back out next week and run Knoxville but right now were just going to focus on getting a car back together.”
As for now plans are in limbo for Cox’s next race, so please stay tuned to www.justyncox.com for an update on his next race.
Justyn would like to thank Brian Brown Racing, Oakley, STL ( Sacramento Theatrical Lighting ), College Cyclery, 7industries, Searsboro Telephone Company for their continued support in 2011.
