Skip is not just popular, but is also a two-time champion at the Knoxville Raceway (1997 and 1998). Skip burst on the Knoxville scene in 1991 after showing up at Knoxville for the first time in June. From there, he put a solid August Nationals finish together finishing 5th in the prelim and 14th in the final in his first try.
Skip has over 80 wins to his credit, including 25 at the Knoxville Raceway (9th all-time). He won World Series Sprintcars (the Outlaws of Australia) titles in 1997 and 1999.
