2012 will mark the 25th year of racing sprint cars for John. The 1988 Knoxville 360 Rookie of the Year placed ninth in the point standings in his first year. The veteran has been racing virtually all his life, having started in the quarter midgets at age five. He also piloted mini-sprints, Formula Fords, pavement late models, and has even driven a Winston Cup car for Petty Enterprises at Charlotte, North Carolina.
John tries to shake his bad fortunes of 2009 and 2010, and seeks his first career win at Knoxville this season, having five top fives and fifteen top tens in his career.
