Ryan lives in Morton, Illinois with his wife and two children. He is the manager at his family’s collision repair facility. His parent’s are the owner’s of his 410 Sprint Car and are his primary pit crew. Before getting into the sprints, Ryan was a success in Quarter Midgets and Micro-Sprints. In 1997, he was the ALQMA Indoor Dirt Champion. He was also the National NMMA Point champion in 1999, and the Jacksonville Speedway Micro-Sprint track champion in 2001. In 2002 Ryan started racing 410 sprints, where he was named Rookie of the Year at Jacksonville Speedway. He has four wins to his credit including the 2007 Herb Barlow Memorial at Jacksonville Speedway. That season, he was fourth in the Midwest All Star Series points, and followed that up with a runner-up finish in 2008. In 2009 he raced a full season with the All Star Circuit of Champions where he finished fourth in points. In 2010 he raced a limited schedule at Knoxville due to the birth of his second child. He finished that season with two top ten finishes. In 2012 Ryan ran a full season at Knoxville with four top ten finishes and a quick time. He also registered two fifth place finishes at the Front Row Challenge at Oskaloosa and with the Midwest Open Wheel at 34 Raceway.
